Proactive Backyard Structures began with a simple swing set back in 2001.

Our founder, Jacob, built one for his own kids, and before he knew it, the whole neighborhood was asking for one! It turns out, everyone wanted a fun and sturdy swing set. Jacob began crafting more swing sets, and as demand grew, he partnered with skilled manufacturers to keep up. Within a few years, Proactive Backyard Structures was happily serving families throughout New Jersey.

In 2010, we launched our commercial division, creating safe and exciting play areas for daycare centers, schools, multi-family properties, places of worship, parks, apartment complexes and inclusive play areas.

Our reputation for quality and craftsmanship spread, and in 2020, we began working with clients nationwide.

In 2023, we launched our online store, bringing our expertise and top-notch backyard solutions—from sheds to play equipment—directly to homes and businesses nationwide, and we're still dedicated to serving our commercial clients too!

From building that first swing set for a neighbor, we've grown into a trusted partner for families and businesses looking to create amazing outdoor spaces.
